1. Condition the clay: Before loading, ensure your polymer or ceramic clay is soft and pliable. This will make it easier to extrude.
2. Select a nozzle: Unscrew the cap and choose one of the 19 discs. Place it inside the nut with the raised side facing up.
3. Load the clay: Fill the barrel of the extruder with the conditioned clay. Do not overfill it; it should be no more than two-thirds full.
4. Extrude the clay: Place the plunger on top and push down or twist the handle to press the clay through the chosen nozzle.
5. Finish your shape: Once you have the desired length, use a blade or knife to cut the extruded clay away from the extruder.
6. Clean up: After use, you can bake the extruder barrel for a short time to make cleaning out any remaining clay easier.
